Abstract

This chapter illustrates the figures of diffusion of impurities in solid metallic elements. Semilogarithmic plot of diffusion coefficient of impurities versus reciprocal temperature in lithium, sodium, potassium, beryllium, magnesium, calcium, yttrium, cerium, lanthanum, neodymium and praseodymium is shown. Semilogarithmic plot of iron impurity diffusion coefficients in scandium, and gold impurity diffusion coefficient in erbium versus reciprocal temperature is illustrated. The chapter further illustrates the semilogarithmic plot of diffusion coefficients for transition and non-transition element impurities in zirconium and titanium versus reciprocal temperature. In addition, the chapter extends to illustrate the semilogarithmic plot of impurity diffusion coefficients in hafnium, vanadium, niobium, tantalum, chromium, and molybdenum.
