Abstract

This chapter provides an introduction to chemical diffusion processes in inhomogeneous binary alloys. Only data for essentially 'bulk' samples are given. The tables give data for the interdiffusion coefficient, sometimes called the chemical diffusion coefficient or mutual diffusion coefficient. The interdiffusion coefficient is conveniently expressed by an Arrhenius equation.
