Optical properties of Si/Ge superlattices

Abstract

This document is part of subvolume C3 'Optical Properties' of volume 34 'Semiconductor quantum structures' of Landolt-Börnstein, Group III, Condensed Matter, on the optical properties of quantum structures based on group IV semiconductors. It discusses optical properties of Si/Ge superlattices. Topics include the empirical tight-binding model for Si/Ge superlattices with uniaxial strain,.optical and electronic properties of Si/Ge superlattices grown along the [001] and [111] directions, Raman spectroscopy, photoluminescence, electroluminescence, photoconductivity and optical Junction Space Charge Techniques, stroscopic ellipsometry, piezoreflectance and electroreflectance, second-harmonic generation, and quantum dot superlattices.
