7.2.5.3.6 Permanent magnet properties

Abstract

This chapter discusses permanent magnet properties of rare earths. Magnetization loops parallel and perpendicular to the easy direction of magnetization for NdFe10Mo2Nx and NdFe10V2Nx compounds at 4.2 K and hysteresis loops of Nd15Fe70V15 and (Nd15Fe70V115)1-xNx samples at room temperature obtained by mechanical alloying process are plotted. The RFe12-yMyNx compounds show high c-axis anisotropy, relatively high Curie temperatures and the corresponding coercivity, where the coercivity is 9.7 kOe for NdFe10Mo2Nx and 4.5kOe for NdFe10V2Nx.
