Introduction to thermoplastic elastomers

Abstract

Thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) are polymeric materials that exhibit elastic properties and at the same time they also act as plastics. This chapter gives a brief account on different aspects of TPEs. The aspects studied herein include, different synthetic methods, processing, characterization and applications of TPEs. The advantages of using TPEs over conventional thermoset polymers in different applications are also presented.
