9.4.11 Noble metals

Abstract

This chapter presents data on diffusion of hydrogen and its isotopes deuterium (D) and tritium (T) in noble metals like copper (Cu), silver (Ag) and gold (Au). Various methods described in this chapter including desorption method, permeation method and electrochemical method have been applied to the study of hydrogen diffusion. In addition, the temperature ranges, Arrhenius parameters including preexponential factor (D0) and activation enthalpy (Q), and hydrogen concentration values are tabulated.
