3.2.4 Titanium group metals

Abstract

This chapter compiles data for diffusion of various solute impurities in titanium group metals, namely, titanium (Ti) [α-titanium and β-titanium], zirconium (Zr) [α-zirconium and β-zirconium] and hafnium (Hf). Diffusion data are tabulated in terms of the pre-exponential factor D0 and the activation enthalpy Q, temperature range, and experimental methods such as residual activity, lathe sectioning, serial sectioning, X-ray diffraction method, nulcear reaction analysis, electron microprobe analysis, fission fragment radiography, diffusion couple method, grinder sectioning, and microtome sectioning.
