7.2.4.8 Specific heat

Abstract

This chapter discusses electrical resistivity and specific heat of R2Fe14C alloys. The thermal variations of the real, ρ’, and imaginary, ρ”, parts of the electrical resistivities in R2Fe14C compounds with R = Sm, Er and Tm are plotted. The real parts, ρ’(T), increase continuously without any singularities. The imaginary parts, ρ”(T), may well give evidence of phase transitions. Anomalies in p”(T) found at spin reorientation temperatures in Er2Fe14C and Tm2Fe14C are shown. Magnetic specific heat of Lu2Fe14C and Lu2Fe14B around the Curie temperature is also figured out.
