7.2.5.3.1 Crystal structure and lattice parameters

Abstract

This chapter discusses crystal structure and lattice parameters of RFe12-yMyAx compounds. The RFe12-yMy compounds crystallize in a ThMn12- type structure having 14/mmm-space group. The crystal structures of YFe11TiA x with A = N and H are schematically plotted. Atomic sites in YFe11TiN1 (14/mmm-space group) at 300 K and atomic sites in YFe11TiH1.9 (14/mmm-space group) at 4.2 K are tabulated. Lattice parameters at room temperature and relative volume change ΔV/V upon A uptake for RFe12-yMyAx compounds (M = Ti, V, MO; A = N, H) are listed in a table.
