Abstract

This chapter discusses electronic structure of metal, tungsten (W). Energy-band structure, single-particle density of adsorption-sensitive SS, electrostatic Coulomb potential, effective one-electron potential, self-consistent film potential, surface states, three-dimensional plots of the total effective potential and the modified potential, plot of the dispersion of surface state peak as a function of parallel momentum, photoemission intensity, resonance, angular dependence of the W(001) band gap, bulk and surface band structure of W are illustrated.
