10.6 Magnetic field


This chapter discusses literature on general introduction and magnetostatic Aharonov–Bohm effect of magnetic field. The magnetoresistance (MR), RL and RH, observed at 270mK and 50mK in a middle–sized annulus is shown. Examples of periodic oscillations in RL in 2.35 μm diameter annulus are shown. The MR in small and middle–sized annuli near 150 and 300 mT is shown. The MR of a 1 μm diameter ring with a linewidth of 0.35 μm is shown. The corresponding data for a similar ring but with one electrical path broken is shown. Fourier transform of the data is illustrated. Data for RL and RH are shown. A large negative MR in RL was observed for -0.3 kG < B < 0.3 kG. Four–terminal MR at 280mK is illustrated. MR data of the two–loop sample at T = 0.01K for a gate voltage of 0.15V and for 0.075V is illustrated. Conductance is plotted as a function of gate voltage at T = 4.2K. A typical MC and the corresponding Fourier transform are shown. A plot of the conductance vs. gate voltage at ≈ 1K is shown.
